For Today’s Children and Tomorrow’s Adults

SPASTN envisions itself as a companion to children with disabilities; we are with them every step of the way, from the early stages of assessing their disability to training, education, and finally as independent adults. We empower and equip persons with disabilities with skills that help them reach their full potential. Our day programs currently cater to more than 900 beneficiaries across four locations in and around Chennai.

Our Philosophy

SPASTN has been working in the area of special education for more than three decades. We provide the best standards of care for children with disabilities and their families. We work with children with Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Disabilities, Autism, Intellectual Disability and Deafblindness. SPASTN believes every child can learn and thrive with an appropriate Individualized Educational Plan and Therapy Intervention Plan which captures the road map integrating the learning goals. With the right support, children can learn literacy, numeracy, communication, and social-emotional competencies. We inculcate the importance of the right attitude and ability in our students so they can be independent achievers.

Our Approach to Education

Our functional academic and daily living skills have included transitional supports, shifting from preferred to non-preferred tasks, handling and working with money, following directions, awareness of safety, reading street signs and knowing who to approach if lost.
